Andrew Svetly, MD, MBA, joined Florida Hospital in May, 2007 and serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Information Officer, and Senior Medical Director. Florida Hospital has successfully implemented i-Extend, their electronic medical record,  and Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), across eight campuses (over 2,400 beds) and Emergency Departments. It is used by over 2,000 physicians and 16,000 staff members.

After residency, Dr. Svetly founded and became President of the Management Services Company of Arizona, a 100-physician multi-specialty group. He also served as President  and Managing Director of Arizona Family Care Specialists, Medical Director of Clinical Informatics for Scottsdale Healthcare, Associate Medical Director of Clinical Care at Scottsdale FamilyCare, as a Board Member of the Arizona Foundation for Medical Care, the Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea, and the Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Paradise Valley Hospital.

Dr. Svetly spent six and a half years at the Cerner Corporation, a global healthcare information technology company, as the Vice President of Clinical Operations. He assisted in the development and served as Medical Director of the Healthe Clinic, Cerner’s prototypical onsite corporate healthcare facility, which has been adopted by other global companies.

Dr. Svetly has spoken nationally and internationally on current topics in medicine and has advocated for patient safety, data security, the reduction of medical costs, errors, and harm, through the application of advanced information technology, the use of CPOE, the digitization of clinical information, physician adoption, physician leadership, and the enhanced analysis of large data sets, commonly referred to a “Big Data.”

After completing his medical education at the University of Arizona, Dr. Svetly went on to receive his MBA from Arizona State University. Dr. Svetly is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Arizona Academy of Family Physicians, And American Association for Physician Leadership. He has been named a “Top Doc” and the Consumers’ Research Council lists him among the nation’s "Top Family hysicians." He has been honored numerous times as one of the “Best Doctors in America.” He and his wife are two of the original founders of Arizona’s Desert Voices Oral Learning Center, a school for deaf children. They continue to play a role in the ongoing success of the school. Dr. Svetly continues his clinical medical practice.
